Spring High Tea

In collaboration with Hirondelle Bakery, we’ve curated a Spring theme high tea experience for you to share with your loved ones. Whether it be with your family, friends, or partner, we hope you have a great time at LAST.

Our high tea will be hosted on Sunday May 5 at 11am-12:30pm (sold out) or 2pm-3:30pm (sold out) followed by a modern tapestry workshop before/after led by Laura of The Robin’s Nest. This workshop will be an optional add-on if you choose to stay from 12:30pm-2pm or come early before your high tea service.

High Tea Menu

Spring High Tea Menu – $65 per adult; $35 per child under 5-12 (reduced portion)

First Tier

Buttermilk Scone, Jalapeno Cheddar Scone, Apricot Orange Blossom Scone

Second Tier

Truffle Egg Salad Sandwich, Spring Club Sandwich, Cucumber & Dill Sandwich, Gougere with Smoked Salmon, Prosciutto & Melon Crostini

Third Tier

Medovik Cake, Pandan Choux, Lemon Raspberry Battenburg, Matcha Brownie, Strawberry Rose Cheesecake

Alternative Menus

Vegetarian Menu – $65 per adult

First Tier – same as above

Second Tier – Egg Salad, Roasted Vegetable Sandwich, Cucumber Sandwich, Gougere with Sauteed Mushrooms, Caprese Bites

Third Tier – same as above (without gelatin)

Dairy Free Menu – $45 per adult; this dietary menu will not be presented tier due to the nature of ingredients used

Modern Tapestry Workshop – 12:30pm

Learn to create your own modern tapestry!

This fun and interactive class will teach you the fundamental skills needed to weave your own handwoven wall hanging. Add it on post high-tea or join us at 12:30pm!

• Be introduced to the “weaver’s toolkit” and learn about looms, weaving needles, and the different fibres you can use in your piece. 
• Learn how to set up a frame loom to weave small tapestries. 
• Learn different weaving techniques to create your unique piece!

At the end of class you will learn how to finish your piece by weaving in your ends, cutting your piece off the loom, and attaching it to a dowel or driftwood. 

Who This Class For

This class is perfect for beginners, as well as those who have tried frame loom weaving and are interested in learning new techniques, alongside an instructor.

About the Instructor

Laura Kelm is an Edmonton-based fibre artist who specializes in weaving, hand-spinning, and creating textile art. She has adapted traditional tapestry weaving tools and techniques to bring new life to this ancient art. Using colour, texture, and carefully curated fibres, Laura weaves abstract and modern tapestries that have a unique, bohemian style.
